This is what the honeycombs looked like after they were removed. This process did involve lifting some tiles out of the way, and replacing them once all the bees had been talked into leaving.
The Queen has left the building, but the workers are flying around in a confused fashion until they get the word.
These are the workers' conferences where they decided what to do. The answer was, of course, to follow the Queen wherever she went. She was in the Beekeeper's equipment at this point.
All settling down. The tiles were put back in place at the end of the day; by that time there were no bees flying around.
